Spiritual Truth: For he is the guide even of wisdom and the corrector of the wise, Wisdom 7:15
King Solomon in the book of Wisdom invokes God, because the creator of all things is the source of all the perfections of the universe and in particular of wisdom, and whoever receives the wisdom of God receives the supreme knowledge, the knowledge of all things, both visible and invisible.
Wisdom is a hidden treasure, Wisdom is more than money, it's like putting your hand in the magician's top hat, you never know what mystery can come out of it, truth and knowledge are the source of true wealth for man, not power:
"If one yearns for wide experience,
she knows the things of old, and infers the things to come.
She understands the turns of phrases and the solution of riddles;
signs and wonders she knows in advance" Wisdom 8:8.
Wisdom is very special because it participates both in science and in the intelligence of man, it is a science because it is the knowledge of the ultimate and first causes according to Aristotle's metaphysics, but wisdom is also in the intelligence of the wise man, and for this reason, the wise man gives good advices to who asks for them.
King Solomon in his devotion request God to be considered worthy to receive such a great spiritual gift through Gnosis, wisdom makes us similar to God in essence:
"May God grant that I speak with judgment
and have thoughts worthy of what I have received,
for he is the guide even of wisdom
and the corrector of the wise.
For both we and our words are in his hand,
as are all understanding and skill in crafts.
For it is he who gave me unerring knowledge of what exists,
to know the structure of the world and the activity of the elements" Wisdom 7:15-17.
And wisdom has something very important, when a wise man asks for wisdom, he not only asks for his own good, but also for that of others, wisdom is like the sun, it illuminates and enriches everyone, not only the one who possesses it. When King Solomon ruled in Israel, not only did he get rich as a monarch, but also all the people shared in his well-being. Wisdom is expansive, benevolent, uplifting, and blessed. The spiritual seeker who asks God for wisdom, with intelligence asks for what is best.
