Believe in God: Do not say, "I will recompense evil"; wait for the LORD, and He will save you
If we respond to evil with another evil, evil wins, we should not wish evil on anyone, the Bible explains, this does not mean that if we are hit on one cheek we have to turn the other. If we give good and receive bad, we simply have to avoid dealing with people like that and avoid problems. The Bible tells us about this: "Do not say, ´I will recompense evil´; wait for the LORD, and He will save you" Proverbs 20:22.
We live in a universe subject to ethical laws (the righteousness or golden rule, for example), if a person makes an error, we have to let the person who made it, live with it. We have to understand that errors have a progressive nature: "For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind" Hosea 8:7. When people make a habit of error, the sins by adding themselves become an unbearable burden for those who commit them. It is rare for a sinner to lead a long life, health is far from sinners.
Sooner or later God always pays back, we sow and reap: "God ´will repay each person according to what they have done.´ To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life" Romans 2:6.
On the other hand, the Sacred Scriptures explain to us that the Lord helps those who fear him: "The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them" Psalm 25:14. We should not have our eyes set on vindictive attitudes, but on forgiving and fearing God. We must above all things avoid heresies of this kind: "You have heard that it was said, ´Love your neighbor and hate your enemy´" Matthew 5:43, but rather having present in mind: "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven" Matthew 5:44-45.
Constantly focusing on the positive, on what builds, on what adds up is what makes us useful people to the world and to society.
