Seek the Kingdom of Heaven above all things in the world the apostle Paul tells us, seek eternal life, seek salvation, seek beatitude. Entering the Kingdom of Heaven means living the spiritual gifts ("Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" Matthew 5:48), this is the message of Jesus, currently many say that there is a crisis of values, but the problem is that values are the crisis itself. If we have values or virtues it is because we do not know Christ, it is because we have no idea what spirituality is.
The Kingdom of God has nothing to do with the pursuit of happiness through virtue as Aristotle explains, nor with the commandments of the law of Moses. We live in a universe governed by ethical laws, our Lord Jesus tells us in the Sermon on the Mount (Luke 6:20-26), and everything in our lives depends on how we interact with these laws.
When we live the spiritual gifts received from God we are positively interacting with the laws of the universe and therefore we are going to obtain blessings, such as longevity, prosperity, true happiness and peace. One of these laws is the law of reaping and sowing, a cosmic law of balance, learning and retribution: "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows" Galatians 6:7.
When we take an action this law gives us positive or negative returns, the question then to be truly happy is to obtain positive returns from this law: "Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life" Galatians 6:8. This shows us that happiness, although it is one of the most perfect spiritual goods, is not an end in itself.
Paul in the first epistle to the Corinthians, continuing the thought of Jesus, tells us about the importance of living the spiritual gifts, of living according to the spirit: "Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed" 1 Corinthians 12:1.
The gifts, as the apostle Paul explains, bless us and make us similar to God in essence
