Inner enlightenment: Or who can know your counsel, unless you give Wisdom and send your holy spirit from on high?
The wise man intelligently asks himself: "For who knows God's counsel, or who can conceive what the Lord intends?" Wisdom 9:13.
The Bible teaches us that just as there is a dimension of heavenly and perfect things, there is also a dimension of perishable and earthly things, this thought of the Bible comes from the science of metaphysics, if God is wisdom itself, as Thomas Aquinas affirms, where is that wisdom?. We can say that the invisible nature of God is manifested in the creation.
And in this difference between material nature and immaterial nature is based the importance of well-understood spirituality and the search for true inner enlightenment.
The book of wisdom tells us about Gnosis, that is to say about the importance of receiving the spirit of God in a new birth to access the knowledge of that mysterious and eternal plane:
"But things in heaven, who can search them out?
Or who can know your counsel, unless you give Wisdom
and send your holy spirit from on high?
Thus were the paths of those on earth made straight,
and people learned what pleases you,
and were saved by Wisdom" Wisdom 9:16-18.
God makes his advice known to those who resemble him, explains the book of wisdom: "Be holy, because I am holy" 1 Peter 1:16. We see this when the three wise men were guided by God and his council to the manger, the wise men warned by God's guidance avoided the trap that Herod wanted to set for the baby Jesus.
The spirit of God, in addition to granting wisdom, counsel, and the divine guide, gives a special strength to face difficult situations, that is why wisdom saves man, David received the spirit of God to perform memorable feats, such as defeating Goliath, as the Bible explains: "So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David" 1 Samuel 16:13.
