The Christian life is to live in the world with spiritual principles avoiding love directed towards apparent goods, and that is what the apostle Paul told us in the second epistle to the Corinthians: "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight are not the weapons of the world" 2 Corinthians 10:3-4.
The spiritual warfare, as Paul exposed it, is to seek beatitude with all our minds and hearts, a beatitude that is impossible to attain, but at the same time, it surrounds and constitutes us because everything comes from God.
According to the Christian faith, only Jesus was truly blessed because he was perfect and he never sinned, but we can understand beatitude as a special spiritual state before God: "You must be blameless before the LORD your God" Deuteronomy 18:13.
Those who live according to the world make war with their weapons, and the weapons of worldly people are deceit, lies and oppression. To live Christianly is to reject these things. The spiritual warfare that Paul refers to us in his epistle, it is seeking the truth, being precise and accurate in everything we do with progressive thinking, and avoiding error and falsehood: "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God" 2 Corinthians 10:5.
The worldly and the spiritual are opposite realities, that is, different approaches of the mind towards what surrounds us; for the fool, wisdom is simply madness, a stone in the shoe that must be gotten rid of quickly: "Like a house in ruins is wisdom to a fool" Ben Sira 21:18.
This is the reason of why those who choose to follow our Lord Jesus must be alert and prepared for everything in life: "My child, when you come to server the Lord, prepare yourself for trials" Ben Sira 2:1. And of the truth of this teaching our Lord Jesus testified with his life, because he did great prodigies and miracles and yet was persecuted and humiliated.
