What is black magic
In the Bible, the interpretation of dreams is a spiritual gift, a gift that attends to Providence, the divine prudence that everything rules, that is to say, the salvific design of God. Cases of interpretation of dreams like Joseph with the Pharaoh of Egypt, Genesis 41:14-49; Daniel and the King of Babylon in the Book of Daniel 5: 10-30; the Apostle John in the Book of Revelation this cases are what are known as "to be in the spirit" or "raptures of the spirit", Revelation 1: 9.
The interpretation of dreams is a gift that God gives to the pious, that is to say to the devout people, as an infusion of the spirit as it happens with the gifts of wisdom and knowledge. Saint Augustine clarifies us: "In Piety is the wisdom" Book V, Chapter V, Book Confessions. The Piety is the beginning of everything in the spirituality. This is why the Bible condemns lucrative activity related to necromancy, and spiritism in general:
"Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them", Leviticus 19:31
Clarified this, let's see from the point of view of the psychology the difficulties of divination, the analysis of dreams in the following story as an example: "my nephew calls me for his birthday on Saturday, I come to the party, my nephew told me that he started with a lot of enthusiasm to practice martial arts in a gym near his house. After the party, I return home and the next day I had a strong discussion with my neighbor for the soccer game that was played the same day, the next night I have a dream in which I wake up worried: I see myself practicing martial arts in the gym my nephew goes to ". Question: what is the meaning of the dream? Possibility Number 1: I have to prepare myself for a physical fight with my neighbor, my life is in danger. Possibility Number 2: I have health problems, I am overweight and practicing martial arts is extremely beneficial for the body. Possibility Number 3: I have to spend more time with my nephew because his brother is sick and he is very depressed. Which of the three interpretations is correct? Each interpretation leads me to a different decision.
In these cases, the only technique recommended is the analysis of dreams for long periods of time, that is, the analysis of dreams in series and looking for a common or logical meaning of the series.
There is a technique known as "lucid dreams" but also in these cases we must apply the analysis in series, keeping in mind that dreams are an activity of the unconscious part of the soul.
The relationship between what we see in dreams and its meaning in games of chance as it appears in some books is not correct, that is called magical thinking.
The Bible is clear in the teaching: "No one can see the Kingdom of God unless they are born again", John 3: 3; to perceive what comes from other planes of existance is fundamentally a grace, an infusion of the spirit.
